Do you have a good memory?

A surprising thing; I can remember where I was and what I was doing in 1990, enough that I recount it like it was yesterday. Last week’s lunch ? Not so much. Pop refers to that little phenomenon as “oldtimer’s”. 😅

@bijouxbroussard When I was very young, I thought they were saying “Old Timer’s Disease” whenever they talked about Alzheimers.

@bijouxbroussard It’s actually quite common for short term memory loss to exceed long term memory loss in the aging process....my mother-in-law couldn’t tell you what she had for lunch today, but she can relate a story about her parents in detail.
@DragonFruit Yeah, I feel so much better now that you confirmed it. 😭

@bijouxbroussard My wife is basically your age and the same thing is true of her (to a lesser extent than her mother), but she jokes that she might have to join her Mom at the assisted living place soon. What makes her feel worse is that I still have a pretty good memory and I’m close to 5 years older than she is. From conversations I’ve had with you here, it doesn’t seem like yours is bad at all. 🤗
@DragonFruit Among my friends, I was the one who remembered everything, down to minute details. I (and they) are noticing the difference.🤗

@bijouxbroussard It happens....my memory isn’t what it once was, but it’s still better than that of most people around me (though I annoy them by responding with song lyrics at times).
