i don't randomly ask about skype, but the reason i message people i've never talked to is when i'm bored or whatever and want someone to chat with i will go through questions and profile until i find someone interesting or that seems to be someone i'd get along with and enjoy chatting with. so i will message and hope that they reply and we can have a nice chat
