Trying to get a feel for the community on here. What do ya'll log on for? How's the general tone/mood?

Since I'm far from home and don't get to see my family as much as I'd like to, this place helps me fill in that space...so I get a sense of coming home each time I log on. For me it's mostly because I've been a member for a long time, so I've grown accustomed to it.
I might not be "popular" nor have really close friends here, but I still like pretty much everyone and they make it a nice place.
