A little trivia that many may be unaware of.
During a government shutdown - social security and veteran's pensions are still paid.
Government and military pay if suspended, is paid in full, retroactively after the shutdown ends.

Do you want everyone out of a place to live because they can't buy food or pay their utility bills? Or, if they can buy food, are driven to church food pantries which are basically meant for the poor people of the supporting parish? Answer those questions and you will have mine.

Fine, more power to you. I hope you are never faced with no money in the bank, your utilities owning, and no food in your fridge or pantry. That's what these poor people went through or are going through with a second shutdown. There are far too many people living paycheck-to-paycheck (when I worked, that is what I did)to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.
