Swimming pools creep me out now.

I'm a lifeguard, so unsurprisingly, I like swimming pools. But there is an undeniable frightening quality about them at times. People piss in swimming pools, shit in them on occasion. All kinds of random insects wander in there and perish. Leaves and twigs fall in; who knows what's on them. And sometimes, there are rooms underneath the pool, so it's technically possible to fall out if there's an extremely major fuck-up, but to my knowledge, that's never actually happened. Swimming pools aren't dangerous for able-bodied people who know how to swim, but I can see how they might be a little creepy in the way an elevator is creepy.

Actually, pools are probably way creepier than elevators because FAR fewer people piss and shit in elevators than in swimming pools.

Admit it, you have pissed in a swimming pool; everybody has - but I will bet that you haven't done so in an elevator.

@Quakertrucker I'm not sure I can agree with the philosophy of measuring creepiness in liters of urine, but only barbarians piss in pools. That does make the majority of my country barbarians, but it's not like I didn't believe that that was the case to begin with. The point I'm making is, like an elevator, most of the awful shit that CAN happen to you in a pool is unbelievably unlikely, but it's still a scary thought. Sure, a pool technically can fail and cause a whirlpool, but that basically never happens, which mirrors the way elevators basically never kill their passengers by falling.
