I want to get a Hyundai Kona all electric . Now that they have cracked the 300mile range on a single charge and the fast charge gives you up to 80% in about thirty minutes it's a no brainer
@SW-User Thanks for the BA .It's amazing how misinformed the majority of people are regarding fully electric cars as most of the newer generation ones are capable of 240 miles plus on a charge and in Europe at least the average daily commute is 30 miles or less so you could go for a week without charging. They are also much cheaper to maintain as they have fewer parts to worry about . Yes they cost more to buy initially but the running costs are way lower all bar insurance which is higher but not significantly so. I understand missing the sound of a growling V8 or V6 but one day we will run out of a means to fuel those cars so now is the time to start embracing the future
No. They dont have the range and they take a long time to recharge. Also too expensive.

@Jakey75 most new cars give you a range of 150 miles or close about 250kms if you charge them fully - and they come with fast chargers that get you fully charged up in 2 hours ^^
That's a step in the right direction but I want a 300-400 range and I want to be able to conveniently recharge in 15 minutes or less. We are not there yet with electric cars in my opinion.
I wish. But the price needs to improve. Plus where I live we don't have the infrastructure for them. Also some people could use the raw torque of a petrol engine. Such as when pulling stuff. Commuters and distance drivers could get by with something more low powered. I'd say the future will be a mix of vehicles depending on purpose. They used to be a car in Europe that ran off compressed air that I always liked.
Probably not, combustion engine vehicles are way cheaper used and still have at least 30 years of general life on the european streets, by the time they get banned both my next car and myself will most likely be dead so I see no hurry to spend so much on an electric car. The ecologic impact will be smaller than buying a new electric car as I am certainly buying a car that already did it's worst: being built, the impact I do with my mileage is tiny compared with the one of building an electric car and the disposal of it's lifetime batteries.
@MasterLee electric cars have come a far way since being golf carts you know - some of them have speeds which aren't considered street legal or in the range of supercars/hypercars 😅
Definitely not. They aren't ready yet, ultimately some day we all will have to but now I enjoy my freedom and the sound of money exploding from some cars is to much to give up 😌
Perhaps but I suspect it will be some way in the future before they are viable replacements. But I hope they become viable.... the positives are considerable
I love big rumbling V8's, nothing like the noise and being pressed into your seat... The high performance electric cars (Tesla Model S etc) have incredible performance and torque... But the sound of a Hemi engine sucking gas like your flushing a toilet still wins my heart...
