Does anyone else think of their grandparents old house as almost an enchanting magical place?

From what I remember of it ,use to play Aircraft Carriers and fly off the front steps,
A never ending table of food,Gramps always has a Suit and tie and a Block party,everyone else seemed to have forgotten remeber helping my Uncle Charlie with the paper lamps
