Why do so many atheists expect open mindedness from conservative christians but refuse to be open minded to the concept of a God?

I have atheist friends who tell me up front they don't believe in God, I figure why discuss it?
I don't need to change
thier minds.
If they care to ask for my views I will discuss them and they are free to discuss thiers.
Cannot really get anywhere trying to proove each other wrong.
