Why do so many atheists expect open mindedness from conservative christians but refuse to be open minded to the concept of a God?

Mainly because Christianity teaches tolerance and compassion...doesn’t it ? The only thing atheists have in common is that they don’t believe in a deity. Often it’s not even the same one.
