Is it possible to have some civil discourse and reasonable debate here?

Is it automatic to resort to name calling and verbal abuse? Don't get me wrong I have been guilty of this myself. But for some it seems to be their modus operandi.

I think it's because people argue about how they FEEL about things rather than what they THINK.

So an attack on their position in their minds becomes an attack on them.
