It would have been better in base 12.

@SW-User how come? So its more acurate with time?

@popmol It's because 12 is divisible by 2 and 3 and 4 and 6, whereas 10 is only divisible by 2 and 5. That makes it easier to do arithmetic with, and it's the reason why nearly all music uses 12 notes in an octave.
