Harold and Maude One of the great comedies of all time with a poignant theme of love, loss and the joy of being your own unique person. Unforgettable.
A Portrait of Jenny A great romantic classic about lovers who meet outside of the usual time frame. Haunting and unusual.
Bringing Up Baby
Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn in a hilarious old comedy about a very eccentric woman meeting a very nervously conservative man.
North by Northwest A great old Hitchcock movie starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint. A fun loving advertising executive is mistaken for a CIA spy by an enemy agent.
The Late Show starring the great actor Art Carney playing an elderly detective left over from the 1930s noir era working together with ditsy a young woman to solve a murder. A really fun comedy/detective story.
Singing in the Rain A truly fun movie, a musical about the awkward and often hilarious change from silent to sound movies in the late 1920s (but this film was made in the 1950s). Some of the funniest situations and lines you'll ever see in a movie and the best singing and dancing numbers ever.
Double Indemnity A noir film of the 1940s, got an Academy Award which it deserved. An insurance salesman falls for another man's wife and they scheme to eliminate him. Great dialogue, great plot, great acting.
