Nothing about my body "controls me".
@Platoscave that is challenging to accept.
do you not eat and sleep?
Platoscave · F
@SatyrService Nothing about my body "controls me". Peculiar schizzy language from you. Think about it.
Bodily functions are interconnected in functioning people.
Also NO ONE ELSE controls me. I am healthy, light and alive so I know this.
@Platoscave hmm not sure what was Schizzy, I am reluctant to use popular terminology from the Psycho-therapeutic movement.
my response to
Nothing about my body "controls me"
is more like the old Buddhist (and Taoist) saying
"when hungry, eat, when tired, sleep"
or Jesus " Be kind to thine ass (donkey) for it bears thee."

some people, of great will, can contra-act the body, fasting for protest, self immolation etc.

I think YOU Might be a person with that ability, but many are not.

whenever in doubt? i do the HALT thing asking
Hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired?

I believe, from deep research, that our bodies often Dominate our experiences, in spite of our conscious wishes.

I am sorry if you felt transgressed, not my Aim
Platoscave · F
@SatyrService transgressed??

naaa!

I just don't believe in control. I just don't. I believe in interconnectedness.

Bog Brother and the New World Order don't "control me" either.

It IS schizzy talk. No personal offense to you or Jovial...

Luv to all!
@Platoscave control, as in conscious manipulation is the most temporary thing. on this we agree.
I also agree on interconnectedness all things are affected but other things..

I do take exception to Schizzy, not in a personal way but as far as accuracy of language
what about it seems Schizophrenic to you?
kinda seeking your definition. will admit if it matches!
Platoscave · F
@SatyrService Just an adjective, well now in the popular imagination.
Nothing ever CONTROLS anyone else.

If I said I have control over my life I would appreciate a "like" or two.

That's my point.
For pete's sake isn't that we WANT people to believe and embody????
@Platoscave well
Just an adjective, well now in the popular imagination
as a person who has to regularly deal with the Schizophrenic, I often wish we would not use it so. like "triggered" it has a specific meaning, and we dilute that meanings when we use it in those inaccurate popular meanings.

perhaps rather than the word control, which I take from you means absolute control negating free will. and with a touch of deliberate conscious intent

Lets use the more accurate term
affected.

we ARE affected by gravity for one.
Platoscave · F
@SatyrService Every part of my being is effected and affected by every other.

Life is a balanced GESTALT in "together" people.

Ditto for larger human systems.

I maintain this always. I will also never give away my control to one body part over another,.... brain, genitalia, or whatever....

And I never assume the president, the government or the bureaucracy for instance, has ANY CONTROL OVER ANYONE which we have not deliberately ceded.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
Of course we've given our free will over to our government so we don't live in poverty like any poor sod that doesn't agree with the status quo@Platoscave
