I shared a house for almost ten years.
It was so badly put together I changed a lot of it myself !
Re-decorated; bought odd bits of furniture; when I moved out the only bits I took with me were things from the kitchen that were mine.
That's the trouble when you share a house. Things go missing or get broken and few folk think to replace them.

I don't like the idea of that...if I spill something on my sofa I'll get it off the best I can, if it happens on a sofa that belongs to someone else I would get kind of panicky thinking it stained and ruined it....dealing with carpeting in a rental house or apartment is enough to worry about.
