Howcome people in their early 20’s are called kids?

Whether we’re in or out of college, people still refer to us as kids

For the ones who had been / are parents, it´s an emotional thing.
My daughters are, the three in the 29-35 years end, autonomous, professionals, married. And still my girls.
So, we see "kids", cos affection [b]and hope in the new generations[/b], even when they are now adults.
Dooes it make some sense?
