Alone, in the quiet, no distractions. Music plays in my head. Without giving a thought to "whether this is the right thing," nor the Grand Vision of what the end result "should be." Letting the process take hold, allowing feeling, while being open to expression without judgement of self. Excited for the very act of translation, from thought and feeling, to something slightly more tangible. "I am affected. I have a message to deliver."

Clinging to the sense of expression and connection through expression--time and character become irrelevant. Only I have brought this sequence of language to light in this particular way, in this particular moment, yet many humans have used these words before, many have heard these notes, many people have felt these emotions... Many have sat alone with pen and paper, and we are together, in this sense. I am one of the Universe; the Universe is within me. There is no "right" or "wrong," no answers to whats and whys, only a slender sense of following a feeling and being carried, from letter to letter, note to note, soul to soul. Not knowing the origins, accepting the mysterious, and choosing to follow what comes from within.

Playfully shaping a work of art, with an inherent, immaterial value. This art is not made to be admired--in a way it is admiration itself, without a doubt to one's personal integrity. My best writing is a gift from myself, to myself, and to anyone I share it with. It's not approval-seeking, nor the pursuit of perfection; it's story-telling, human and genuine in its presentation.
