family should help family in fact you should help others in need even if not family but, if it's your place you need to be 100 %in charge. I've welcomed others into my home but always made it clear that's my decision and they play by my rules... If you like to chat about the topic please feel free to hit me up with a private message

People use the "family " word to take advantage of family members. I have had it happen to me. I would resent the hell out of them.

@Greenbare Oh I disagree. Extended families in one house stresses me out.

My roommate's family was here over Christmas. They destroyed my kitchen.

Fish and houseguests. After three days, they start to stink.
Its irresponsible and inconsiderate of him to impose his gf and kids on you.

Change is always unsettling.
You have to adapt your own life to accommodate others and that's annoying at the best of times.

Why are you being saddled with babysitting duties ? the parents should be taking care of their own !
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Our society places far too much emphasis on how far we should go to accommodate family. I would allow my family to stay with me for a set amount of time but they would be given a deadline to find another place. I value my solitude and privacy.

@DearAmbellina2113 yeah. Would they extend the reverse to you if that happened ? I know many would not.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@revenant Mine certainly didn't.

It'd bother me too. I roll with the punches at work, but at home - I like to be in control of things and plan what's going to happen. Hopefully they'll find somewhere else to be soon. Doesn't sound like much fun for you. :/
