When Russia went into Afghanistan, US and Saudis provided money and arms to the Afghan rebels. The training was provided by Pakistan. Bin laden was one of them.I When the Russians left he was spurned by the Saudis who thought he was propagating an extreme form of Islam. He was thrown out and he moved to Sudan. From there he started Al quida. He felt that the Americans had used them to settle thier own interests a d political scores.
