@silentkillx2 I have my reasons for this. All based on past experience. I have met others that have said just that, then when we met after serveral years, distanced themselves very quickly.

Many are not as open minded as they claim to be. Not even amongst themselves.

@DeWayfarer did you ever live video chat/call them ? Or was it just texting?

@silentkillx2 Video chat wasn't invited then. But calling was a daily thing. Sometimes several times a day. And emails in the hundreds per month, on top of regular daily contact in the groups. We knew each other was best as was possible for that time. Yet honesty is a tricky thing. If you or others are not wholely honest it is just not going to work. This can only be resolved on a one to one interactive basis. Body language does mean a whole lot!
