Do u know that if u die in sin u will go to hell? Even a christian that dies in sin will go to hell, we need to repent

@Zeusdelight yes he could go to hell for that sin. If he repents before he dies he might be saved.

@Zeusdelight Christianity isn't about obedience to rules...it's about companionship (with God): a self-righteous rule-follower can still go to hell with hardness in their heart and one who sins can still go to heaven with love in theirs

@Lhayezee no sinner can go to heaven. You have to repent for your sin. If a seriel killer repents for their sins they can be saved if they continue in holiness

@lightshinesthroughdarkness I always thought Salvation was God's choice. Dose HE come through you first? Are you limiting his power to take away sins?

@lightshinesthroughdarkness I don't disagree but that's not quite what I was saying (or meaning to say!); which is that our understanding from the NT is surely that Christianity is not about Obeying All Ze Rules but about a relationship with God.
We are the (lost!) sheep and Christ is the shepherd.
Christ is the groom and the Church (ie us) is the bride.
Especially think about the last metaphor: we don't think of marriage as being about a list of rules of things You Must Not Do (it would be a spectacularly unhealthy marriage). A good marriage may well see the couple arguing from time to time - but beneath the argument can still be their loving relationship.

@Zeusdelight im not limiting his power. God gave us free will and he will never take away your free will by forcing u to go to heaven even though u want to keep living is sin like fornication etc. Repent and stop sinning coz sin aint getting into heaven.

@Zeusdelight So you are still limiting God while judging everyone who doesn't agree with you. If a person who had sinned presented themselves at the Pearly Gates. you would say God wouldn't force him to go to heaven. That seems to imply that God does not have the power to forgive those sins there and then and welcome the person in.

@lightshinesthroughdarkness But you are certain of God's requirements. So certain that you think that is the only way to Heaven. god is the sole decider of heaven or not. He makes up His mind and we can't comprehend what they are. We arrogantly think we know through our interpretations of His Word, but only He knows.

@Zeusdelight God lets us know his requirments so we can make it to heaven. They are found in the bible. If u dont believe in Jesus you wont make it, if u dnt repent for your sins you wont make it. Many requirements he reveals to eah person individually. We need to find his favour with praying, fasting and weeping before his throne.

@Zeusdelight i guess they are pretty screwed. I dont make the rules but even i am a woman under Gods authority. People who never knew God can be saved if they are sinless children or are screwed if they are adults who have sinned. A liar wont go to heaven just because he didnt know that lying was a sin.

@lightshinesthroughdarkness Makes God seem pretty unjust. Innately people know that lying is wrong. Whether there is a God or not is knowledge based, based on exposure to the Bible.
