How many times has a homeless person come up to you and ask for money?

No idea. 50? 100? I have that face. People walk past 10 other people to ask me.

Glad I don’t go where you go@Mamapolo2016
@AnneHoney I've been a lot of places. Never a bad experience. If I have, I give, and if I don't they take my regrets with good grace.

I was amused to meet a man in a city park who stopped to chat and mentioned he was homeless, then said, "Don't worry. It's my day off."
@Mamapolo2016 You probably look kind.
I think it may be not avoiding eye contact. @bijouxbroussard

Panhandling is an occupation. Many of them are part of an organized group and often make over $70,000 a year.@Mamapolo2016
@AnneHoney Many of them are broke and not making $70 a year. I don't require proof of income.

Their karma is their problem. I worry about mine.
@Mamapolo2016 That makes sense. One of the people where I volunteer once told me, “you get so that you can tell those who see you as a fellow human being and aren’t judging you, because they’re willing to look you in the eye, even if they don’t have money to spare. That’s something.”
It's my insatiable curiosity. Everybody has a story. True or not. @bijouxbroussard

You are a good person.@Mamapolo2016
@AnneHoney If I was all that good, I wouldn't be concerned about my karma. 😊

I've never had to panhandle, but strangers have helped me many times with one thing or another. I see it as a debt.
