Why do songs like Joyner Lucas’ I’m sorry and Logic’s 1-800 sound like they do more bad then good when trying to prevent suicide?

Is it because they just try to raise awareness?

I’m sure their goal is to raise awareness. Why do you feel they do more bad than good ?

@Stark who listen to those songs not to necessarily cheer themselves up but to kinda just amplify their depressed state in a way
@Misael909 I think those songs are more to express some understanding towards suicidal individuals and even non suicidal individuals. I haven’t heard the first song but I think the second song Expresses a lot all in one, it expresses how people feel when suicidal, it relates to them in a way and it can be difficult sometimes to really understand thoughts like that when you’ve never had them and even difficult to express when you do have them so I think on both ends of being non suicidal and suicidal it helps with that especially raising awareness, and towards the end of the song it does become a pretty uplifting song. I don’t think they’re necessarily to cheer people up but more to motivate and relate to which I think can be extremely helpful during times like that.
