What was the worst advice you have ever received?

When I was preparing for a job interview: "You have to tell them about your last job." My last job had just lasted 5 weeks and had ended very badly. I stopped taking that person's advice and finally landed a decent job. Now, as far as any prospective employers are concerned, that job never happened.
