I have a question. Which is closer to the description of a narcissist?

Could it be defined as being full of yourself, basically admiring yourself to the point that you genuinely feel you're special and better than others. Confidently bragging about it, and overestimating your importance to people? (of course, as far as you're concerned, you're as important as you think you are)

Or could narcissism be described as being self-absorbed and lost in your own world because you feel a lot of people around you aren't either interested enough/intelligent enough (or any other reason) to actually be of any valuable company to you. You don't brag, toot your own horn or anything. You just do the bare minimum social interaction needed to get by because you feel like they have nothing to offer(unless you meet a like mind, which is rare).

Neither one. It's a mental illness. Narcissistic personality disorder is a personality disorder with a long-term pattern of abnormal behavior characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance, excessive need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. The cause of narcissistic personality disorder is unknown.
