Why does it seem that Americans now base your worth as a person on which political party you subscribe to?

It's absurd. As if that were the ONLY criteria for deciding a person's value. Not whether they are a good parent, not whether they help others, not whether they are compassionate.

Honestly, THIS is why I am sick of politics. There is NO common sense left any more.

@SW-User Yes it is. My sister posted on Facebook about 6 months ago to everyone that she had as friends to go ahead and remove her from her friend list if they supported Trump, and 500 did in one week.

@SW-User Yes it is. She was ranting on FB almost every day. Now she is writing 4 books all at the same time. I think her daughter might have suggested that.
