random thought.

Please I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way or personal in any kind of way. Its just a question I wish to throw out there in the hope to get some positive feed back. I'm an Aussie. I have many friends from around the globe, from different religions and back grounds etc. But since living in the UK over the past 4 years I have had many British friends drop me from Facebook or even get up tight about comments I make every now and again about British road behaviour. On how bad majority of drivers are here on the roads and yet brits always complain about expensive car insurance, fuel costs etc. When they drive well over the speed limit, not use indicators, tale gate, constantly switch lanes through non moving traffic, can't be bothered indicating when turning at roundabouts or into streets etc. The list goes on. However no names were ever once mentioned yet it's only the brits who get so worked up over these comments and will take it to heart. Is it wrong for me to have a freedom of speech about an observation I have in regards to these matters when I have every right to have a say when it does concern and affect my life whilst using these roads and paying ridiculous amounts in insurance and up keep of safety to my vehicle. I have I touched a very sensitive nerve. I mean police go on about road safety and yet aren't bothered by these maniac drivers at all. Instead they much prefer to sting a honest decent driver who is always doing the right thing but has lacked a single car insurance payment by taking away there vehicle because it's un insured and yet people with insurance can drive like turkeys.
I live in the US.. and just from the time on here I have found them to be very arrogant. They say they're not afraid to speak their mind.. but there's a big difference in speaking your mind and being down right arrogant. I mean they post things bashing Americans.. but how many posts do you see of Americans bashing them. This is just my observation.. and it makes me realize how much I like living here even more.

Like don't get me wrong. There are idiots on the roads no matter what country. But Aussies are pretty laid back people and will just let a lot of things slide past them without a worry in the world. But if a typical British driver would to drive on an Aussie road, I assure you it wouldn't be to long before your followed by an Aussie where they would offer some friendly advise on your driving skills. They just don't stand for stupidity when it comes to road safety especially if u don't indicate. That's not under skilled driving, that's just pure arrogant laziness.

Good on you. I agree. I mean I've been to thailand, Russia etc and have found more common sense on the roads there where it is busier. Yet they all can form into single lanes without stopping the flow of traffic and I find that every single day here I am sat in hours of traffic whilst trying to get home after a 12 hour shift, all because there's been another accident on the road. They need to slow down, use common sense and maybe, just maybe car insurance costs might actually come down. Lol
