We work and pay for it in the form of Social Security taxes withheld from paychecks or paid as self-employment taxes if we are self-employed.

@cherokeepatti Unfortunately some people working low paying jobs don't get to put much in and end up getting very little back. They get caught up in the revolving door of poverty with no way out.
