What is with the peaceful religion of Islam, Recently there were near riots because a christian woman was acquitted instead of beheaded for blasphemy

I am not real impressed with the peaceful religion of Islam, I am not talking about a few bad apples here and there but look at whole countries. Take Pakistan for example, they have laws on blasphemy against Islam that can carry a compulsory death sentence.

Recently there was a shit storm over a 53 year old Christian woman named Assia Bibi she was acquitted for blasphemy charges. The Prime Minister had to appeal for calm, after far-right protesters blocked roads in several major cities protesting because she was not going to be executed. Protesters have called for the Judges who ordered the release of Aasia to be killed under religious edict.

Increasingly, blasphemy accusations have resulted in mob lynchings and extrajudicial murders. At least 74 people have been killed in violence related to blasphemy allegations since 1990, according to an Al Jazeera tally. Those killed include a provincial governor and a federal minister who stood up for Bibi when she was first accused in 2009.

Lets not forget the other countries, of which 13 nations, all Muslim majority, have death penalty for apostasy.

Peaceful religion my ass.

Pakistan is not governed by Islam. In fact, there's no country in the world now takes Islam as its primary law. Just give me one verse from the Quran justifies their action. There's non. Plus, injustice is taking over in every society and country regardless of their religious background. Muslims are persecuted in many places in the world, why wouldn't you stand up against injustice there?

No other name appears in the Constitution, and this is the name that appears on money, in treaties, and in legal cases. Elements of Islamic Sharia law have been incorporated into Pakistani law, for example Pakistan imposes the death penalty for blasphemy - including a disbelief in God. If you defile the Quran you get life imprisonment, if you use derogatory remarks, spoken, written, directly or indirectly, etc. that defiles the name of Muhammad is punishable by a mandatory Death and fine with the trial taking place in a Court of Session with a Muslim judge presiding. So don't try to float the idea that Pakistan is not governed by Islam.

There are a number of surah in Qur'an relating to blasphemy, from which Quranic verses 5:33 and 33:57–61 have been most commonly used in Islamic history to justify punishment for blasphemy.

The only punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is that they should be murdered, or crucified, or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides, or they should be imprisoned. This shall be a disgrace for them in this world, and in the Hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement. Except those who repent before you overpower them; so know that Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Many Quranic commentators and jurists have based their treatment of blasphemy on this verse, interpreting blasphemy "within the definition of waging war".[6] The final portion of the verse waives punishment if the offender repents, but it has often been ignored or dismissed as applying only to non-Muslims.[6] Many scholars have also used the following verse to justify punishing blasphemy:

Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment. And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin. O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumors in al-Madinah do not cease, We will surely incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little. Accursed wherever they are found, [being] seized and massacred completely.

Well you know what to do .Play them at their own game anyone who insults the Christian church in the uk can be hung my god better start building 1000s of gallows and 1000s of judges to hear the cases .
