Why does everyone hate liberals ?

Everybody doesn't hate liberals. For example, liberals don't and I don't.

Extremists on both ends of the spectrum tend to be pompous, without humor, and often hard to like because they are right and if your opinion does not dovetail perfectly, you are wrong, and the enemy.
