Anyone else feeling extra anxiety lately?

It appears the last two weeks or so, things have been more hectic..lately I have been thinking about EARLY retirement from this Forsaken place. I will have 23 yrs in I wanted 25..yet I'm thinking of biting the bullet!
Between the annoying politics n sh4t lately and the continuous
PIA husband..I need to think no...

Just lately it's felt like
Being a marble inside a balloon..
Anyone else?

--If you think you have a PIA husband now...just wait until you are spending ALL your time with him... Use work as your escape.

--At our age,,there are no readily available jobs that provide decent benefits right out of the starting gate. Plan on paying through the nose for health insurance until you hit 65 and get Medicare. Then you will still pay,,,just not as much.

--I retired at 62. But there is a BIG catch... I am basically debt free and have a decent residual income outside of Social Security. And my health insurance is covered 100% by virtue of a former employment contract.
So I took my SS early because I did the math: if you feel you will pass before age 78, then you are money ahead to take it early. The vast majority of my family has passed in their mid 70's from a health issue that runs in the family. So I am enjoying what's left of my relatively good health while I still have it.

--I believe the BIGGEST key to a successful early retirement is entering said retirement with NO DEBT/LITTLE DEBT. I know way too many that are still working in their 70's because they moved to (wherever) and took on a new mortgage when they 'retired'. While hoping for a carefree retirement, they quickly found out that insurance, property taxes, car expenses and home repairs ate up most of their monthly income.

Just my 2 cents...

@Threepio Yes understood, it's just I have reached the end of my time with my job. I know the benefits are good now. I will have to work to obtain benefits again down the road..
Our long term plan is l retire next summer..( I'll have 23 yrs) get what I can..then sell our house (
We can do well on it. We have a small note on it comparatively. Then we can buy a house in West Florida.
Got to make this work.

Yes. Mostly because a month ago I said goodbye to the person I thought was to be my future the past 5 years.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Work truly can be a living hell, and I am not sure why others insist on making it this way when we have to be there most of our lives.
And what can make life even more stressful, is when we don't have reprieve even at home.
I think you need to do something just for you! Take a class, take a mini vacation, whatever makes YOU feel good.

I have felt more anxiety lately but I think it's just the time of year for me.

Take a break, at least 2 weeks if you can. But put in your 25 years if you possibly can. Shorting yourself on retirement funds will probably be worse in the long run than sticking it out. Think of the jerks you have to endure as cable TV sit-com characters. Give your work "sit-com" a name. Don't suddenly laugh out loud--just try and enjoy the comedy.
