When I'm simply fantasizing and not thinking about it rationally it seems like heaven would be a perpetual state of existence in one's prime, at your healthiest, where you could reunite with lost love ones.

That's another reason it makes sense. If I die now. Will I eventually spend eternity with my wife or one of my other loves ;-)
