Why do men play games?

So I was trying to be caring and I made sure that I was available every time my partner needed me, he then started treating me like I am shit. By all means I'm not desperate I was trying to be in a heathy relationship where running and chasing is not necessary. He made me look desperate, not being mean but I'm way out of his league to begin with, maybe this is why people shouldn't drop their standards.

Respect and mutual caring have to be the heart of any relationship. Once you learn to respect yourself its easier to demand respect from others. A fallacy that many people, especially women, have is that you can change your partner's faults. Unless he or she wants to make changes it won't work.
So move on and work on your own self esteem and self worth before you jump into a new relationship.
