Have you ever felt like you're done being nice?

When we do for others and we are nice we run the risk of being hurt and taken advantage of .but
We also need to examine out motives
Did we do it because thats who we are ,so really nothing lost
or because we were buying emotion security for ourselves
If I am nice to them ,when I need something ,they will be there for me .
I gave people jobs ,helped them get into homes ,get transportation and get it legal ,and always had a party in my home ,it was the place to be and I felt loved and popular ,but
I needed back surgery ,and my life sort of fell apart
When I went to those friends ,they all let me down
I was not earning their respect and love ,,I was making them feel like they owed me
Now I have learned to give love because thats what I do
and I am still taken advantage of sometimes ,but here is the difference
Now I do it because thats who I am
and they can't take from me what I was giving away anyhow
When you do for people because you expect the same back ,
you are going to be disappointed
As you keep doing because thats who you are ,,you get better at spotting users
A wise man once said if you give them a fish ,tomorrow they will need another one and so on ,,,but if you teach them to fish ,they feed themselves for a life time ,,,and then they can teach others to fish too
the point is ,,teach them not to depend on you and yourself not to depend on doing good for them ,to feel good about you

Actually I have been saying that I’m done being nice for about a year now. It’s easier said than done when you are naturally inclined to want to help others.

Best thing you can do is forgive her and make up, everytime you forgive someone you weaken their position and strengthen your own
