Carpenters or people who are really good with building, what is a good type of wood to build a house? And can I use reclaimed wood?

Western red cedar, douglas fir, some spruces and pines are the most common structural or framing lumber. There is some variation on where you live as to what is more common in the area. Other stuff can be used .. like oak .. but costs more and has less give or flex which can help the home resist damage in high winds.

Engineered products like laminated beams and engineered roof trusses and floor joists avoid defects, steel beams and column posts, give better strength and help the build go faster .. but cost more.

Be careful with reclaimed stuff and I'd tend to use in non-load bearing applications unless someone qualified to assess it deems it appropriate.
