It`s a repost because I think everyone needs to ask this

Seriously I have reposted this because of the different replies I have had
I am trying to get people thinking/talking about the issues. I was very surprised at some of the reponses that had thier own take on it. So I hope to get more people and thier take on it
I truly believe this is beautiful and a warning about the dangers

Am I the only one that see`s the relevance and the meaning that transcends time ,religion and cultures?

FIRST THEY CAME

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Just because something doesn't effect you doesn't mean you shouldn't stand up and say something. Idk that's just what I take from it maybe I'm not getting it.

I think this is very important to remember, and yes, I see far too many similarities between then and now.

It`s just to easy to switch off
But what happens when everyone switches off?
Doesn`t matter change the communists.socialists etc in it to irish, black, white it holds true

@scotsbiguy: Exactly. Evil is allowed to exist when good men remain silent... Our complacency allows the hate and violence to continue.

in my original post i had
but fair point
in general I tend to always give my refernces
However I find it intersesting that you would rather try to make me look little while not engaging in the topic

sorry just I find it strange that you would raise ( a good point ) about me not crediting the author
rather than engage in the discussion
so it can seem you`re more interested in belittling the person rather than engage in the discussion
If i have that wrong I apologise
But to any person that can see and understand that`s how it looked
