In what way has your upbringing affected you?

I'd have to say it affected me a lot, in both good and bad ways, but part of the way I react to it is because of what's hard wired into my personality.

I'm resilient, more patient, understand people better... But I also struggle with my self-esteem. The latter is probably the only negative effect that I can think of, but it's a big one.

I hope you can figure out a way to improve the self esteem. It is a big one and can affect so much of life without it. Sounds like you have a lot going for you already. 💜

@Peekatyou: thank you... It is a struggle, I find that I always need to have people remind me of my worth.. May not be the healthiest solution, but I really don't think I can get by without others.

I was never taught unconditional self worth either, so I struggle with this greatly myself. I often tell others they are worthy of everything life has to offer, just the same as the next person, but I have a hard time believing it for myself. I hope you can find it for yourself.
