Is it really okay to never hold a grudge against anyone?

I am asking because I finally got a confession out of the girl I like why she's talking to her abusive ex. She said it's impossible for her to hate anyone, no matter how badly they hurt her. She thinks everyone has good on the inside even people as evil as her ex. Does this make her a better person than I, or incredibly naive?

I wouldn't say she was in love or naive, from a personal level I think its a defense mechanism. She knows what he's like but doesn't want any more crap in her life so just lets go. She sees the good because she's a decent being, her nature is lovely, don't under value her. I'd say she is a keeper.
