Considering depression is a pretty common thing I would say yes there are a lot of depressed people here. People go online to interact with strangers because they are depressed, it's not always a attention seeking thing. Though sometimes they may be looking for other people like themselves. I sometimes just want to know I am not alone.

@Fernie: I'll be honest with you here, I've not really worked out what the need for social interaction is and the more posts I read on here the cloudier it becomes
