Just a little reflection of modern day mentality...

Earlier today, I posted a photo on my Instagram. Just a picture of the sky with a caption on the gloomy weather there's been lately. In two hours, it got two likes.
About ten minutes ago, I posted another photo - this time, a selfie. Nothing super "exciting," pretty much just a typical selfie. However, that post currently has five likes.

Isn't it amazing how much more people care about looks and attraction, rather than the beauty found in nature? Or, really, the beauty found in anything that isn't a person's face. Most of what I post on Instagram is about something other than my own face, so I've noticed this before. A photo were I'm trying to express some sort of creative individuality receives a small fraction of attention compared to any given selfie. And honestly, that bums me out. It really does seem to show what most people care about, and I'm sure most of those people would unfollow if I refrained from the occasional selfie.

I don't have a bunch of followers, nor do I care to. What content I share that people like or dislike is irrelevant to me, but even still it's interesting to see this sort of thing. And I'm sure if I was a bit more attractive or posted more revealing photos (or both) I'd probably see this trend even more.

What do you guys think about this? And excuse the messiness of this post, it's just one continuous train of thought to vent frustration haha.

I do agree! People mostly go for looks and ignore the far more beautiful things.
