What do you think is the best family type breed dog

Rhodesian Ridgeback. Also known as lien dogs. They would Protect the women and children while the men would go off to hunt. They are awesome with kids. Very protective. And extremely scary looking at an intruder when the hairs on the back are raised and facing in the opposite direction
