What is the longest that you have been unemployed?

The 4 years since I've retired (not counting volunteer work, and I'm climbing the walls). Before that I'd worked steadily since age 16.

@SweetMae: It is. I need to be doing things; I think that's why I started knitting last winter. Now every friend and family member has a hat or scarf.

@SweetMae: Very good to know. I'd been planning to donate some of them to a local shelter closer to winter but will gladly send some to colder climates.
