What is the correlation between college and millionaires? I was sitting in the legion 40 years ago and I was having a drink with a WWII vet. He was complaining that he made too much money last year. He tried to avoid taxes so he made a tax free investment. Unfortunately the investment paid off and he made a million dollars that year. Now he had some real income tax to pay. He never graduated grade 10.

@hippyjoe1955 What I mean is that when you are young say about 19 or so you didn't earn that money like someone who is in their 40s would have. You didn't work for it and probably had it handed to you.

@TheSacredOne No. It could mean you actually know how to work and make money. I have known a number of people who started with nothing and made themselves wealthy. One fellow I know immigrated from Holland. He had to borrow a cow from his boss to feed his family. 20 years later he bought a huge chunk of farmland and paid a million dollars for it. CASH.

@hippyjoe1955 Yeah 20 years later meaning he was older.

@TheSacredOne It means that he saved a million dollars starting out as a farmhand that barely spoke English in 20 years. He was a young man when he came to Canada.

@hippyjoe1955 Yeah but he still got the money when he was older
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@TheSacredOne He started saving money when he was younger. No one 'gave' him money beyond his wages.

@hippyjoe1955 you are missing it man. He didn't get the big money until he was older.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@TheSacredOne You don't understand that you can save money. Starting young and investing every bit of it. It built up over time. He had the self discipline not to blow it on a big party.
TheSacredOne · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 But it didn't pay off until he was old. That's my point
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@TheSacredOne Your point is foolish. Yes it takes time to build up a sizable amount of cash. It doesn't take education or rich parents or rich benefactors. it takes self discipline.

@hippyjoe1955 Most rich people start off life rich though
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@TheSacredOne Get over your jealousy. You sound foolish. If you can't save a dime it is on you. No one else.
TheSacredOne · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 There isn't a dime to save in this over priced world.
