I'm in a worse state. Unfortunately parts of my hair is curly and other parts are straight so I just go ahead and braid or twist it up. 🤣

I typically prefer braid/twist because it keeps it from being so tangled and makes it a bit easier to maintain.

@Stark Oh no way. I just have a few different ethnicities as my background and it's mostly apparent in my hair. Would you ever lock your hair?

@SW-User it sounds like it’s a really pretty texture. I’ve wanted to for a while but I don’t think I ever would as it would result me have to cut it all off if I was ready to go back to my natural state 😭 at least I think that’s how they work. I just stick to twist occasionally I’ll have my mom do them on my hair but I always end up missing my natural hair after a while so I don’t think I’d want something permanently done like that.

I used to have a head full of them and it's not worth it if you wanna go back natural. Combing one out takes forever and you lose a lot of hair in the process. 😓

@SW-User 😱 combing them out?! I couldn’t imagine doing that. Sounds like a lot of work, painful, and as you stated resulting in a lot of hair loss. How long did you have them for ? Did you enjoy them while you had them ?

I'm actually in the process of finishing combing them out as we speak. A few more left so my head isn't really full of them anymore. 😌 I had them for....four years. I enjoyed it because it wasn't a lot of effort to manage, Just once a month re-twisting. The downsides are that they are a nightmare to dry and can take an hour in some cases. You can never really get it dry enough it seems. 😕

Plus it's really difficult to clean and gathers lint easily. Was it worth it for me though? Definitely.

@SW-User thanks for the detail info on dreads 😯 I’ve always been curious about them and how they work. I definitely know they’re not for me after reading this but I still think they’re beautiful.
