If all phones are going to be like $700+ now how am i going ro afford a new one when my current phone dies?
Theres no way I could get a new one if something were to happen to my current phone

You could go for a refurb phone if you cannot afford new. A lot of folks have to have the latest and greatest, but I dont care so much about that.
