Are you one of the people who beleive everything happens for a reason?Tell me about it, your reasoning.

I don't believe that at all, I believe everything happens because of a reason- cause and effect. In this random world

I agree with you. I think that everything has a cause, and an effect, but not everything happens in order to serve some grand, mysterious purpose. If it did, things would be totally different. Life, and human behavior, would make a lot more sense.

I wish it was true. I wish karma was real and people got what they deserved but sadly they’re are always good people that continually suffer and terrible, selfish people that live blessed lives.

@Groofydorkgerdo for a reason vs because of a reason.

Some folks like to think that God has a grand plan and their life is already in play and they have no control over their destiny. "It's all up to fate.". If that were the case it would be like living in Groundhog day.
Water boils because of heat. heat happens for a reason also. Everything happens for a reason. There are no exceptions to 'that' particular rule.
Give me a hypothetical. Everything does happen for a reason. That's simple physics.
Pureblossom · 22-25, F
@puck61 you go first

I hear what you are saying and you're mostly correct... I think the subtle thinking behind this is often we find ourselves making the same mistakes rather than learning and changing ... That's my take on the saying... It happens because you have yet to learn your lesson
Pureblossom · 22-25, F
@ozgirl512 Oh okay, in that case, I get it from that perspective.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
I'm confused.
@Pureblossom I believe most things that happen to us happen because of something we did or didn't do.

I also believe in God and believe that there is a plan and reasons I do not yet know. Since we have free will, we can steer our own ship, if that's what we choose. We may steer it into a stormy sea but the storm would have been there anyway. The course was our choice.
@Mamapolo2016 It 'was' strange context, wasn't it?........
@puck61 I don't know. I understood the explanation. Lots of time I think I'm being crystal clear when I'm not.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
Exactly. It's all chaos. There is no plan. That's why good things happen to bad people and vice versa.
@FeetAreFantastic but every detail of chaos happens for a reason. Molecular motions speeds up and slows down because of something that happens for a reason because of something that happens for a reason because of something that happens for a reason because of something that happens for a reason.....ad infinitum......You see what I'm trying to say?
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
@puck61 oh yes, that is the causality that Pureblossom meant and I agree with that.
I just don't agree that you slipped and broke a bone because you had done something bad and fate decided that you needed a punishment. You slipped because you just had bad luck.
@FeetAreFantastic Yes! Concrete vs Abstract.............................Material vs Philosophical..... I grokked that, but I wanted to keep up my tradition of being a pain in the ass in subtle ways during those times I am not able to be a major pain in the ass.
