@popmol Because he commonly defied the other gods to help humanity, even though he knew he would be punished harshly I.e. being chained to mountain and have his body ripped apart by eagles for eternity. He was very selfless and compassionate to humanity, especially compared to the other Greek gods.

@TGJessica well wasn't he also the one who created humanity. stole fire from the gods for them tricked zues for them. he pretty much is our creator and the other gods just took over. although athena and other gods gave us emotions and such

@popmol yer I believe so but a lot the other gods kind of just got away with helping humanity in comparison, he gets an eternity of torture, fortunately Heracles saves the poor guy.
