Idk. But I got used Nikon D3000 from a friend. I think I payed 200. But not sure. It came with some other stuff too. He did not have it long. Like a few years.

depends, @HuckleberryFriend … if it was me, i'd go with @Jonjdw's suggestion … amazon is currently showing new/used d3000 … used for as little as $209 … that'd be my choice. however … you don't know the seller … and 'used' is not new. i've always been fond of nikon.

@HuckleberryFriend make sure it comes with everything you need … factory-charger/battery 'n nikkor-af-lens 'n lens-cap 'n software(cd) 'n usb-cable 'n neck-strap 'n manual. this is what's included in the original product. good luck with your class.
