Never been to the ocean, is there danger of swimming, diving?
I don't want to snorkel necessarily, but just put goggles on and look in the shallow parts, but I'm afraid of getting swept around by the waves and stuff lol

probably safer on the east coast; west coast is pretty jagged and drops off in depth pretty quickly.
there are places on east coast, like the outerbanks/pamlico sound where you can walk a few hundred feet into water and only be waist deep

The odds are low but a friend of the family killed in a tiny little wave and bumped his head on the bottom and is now paraplegic.. it makes me think of how these Daredevils get away with so much

Nahhh.....i grew up at the NJ shore and i can assure you,you have far more to fear from humans than the ocean.
