On a scale of 1-10, how strict are/were your parents?

@eli1601 it is because you are their male child that's why they weren't so strict on you?

@Newport50 Yes, also because I was the youngest, I think. When I was growing up boys were given much more freedom than girls. Even at 11 or 12 my friends and I could roam all over the small town we lived in, even after dark (although not on school nights).

Girls, even teenage girls caught out after dark w/o their parents knowing where they were were in big trouble.

@eli1601 well, i think most parents fear something will happen to their daughters when they go out after the dark.
