Ladies does it matter anymore that a man opens the door for you, pull your seat open at a restaurant ?

HeavenBesideYou · 56-60, F
I always appreciate someone holding the door open for me, or pulling out a chair for me. I always say "thank you", and if I'm going through a door, and someone else is on their way in or out, I hold it open for them as well. Male or female.

In dating, I always notice when a guy does these things, and I also notice that most of the time they stop after the first few dates.

It matters to me. I was taught that that's what a gentleman is supposed to do, so it's one of the things I look for in a good man. I'm not saying they are a bad person if they don't do these things. It's just chivalry and to me it shows respect to the female.

You keep thinking that because that was the way it's always been

I must be to old fashion , I'd even put down my coat for a woman to walk over a puddle my things have changed

Pulls my seat open? Sounds wrong.. you mean pull my chair out for me? I think that died in the Victorian period...
I don't mind it, nice gesture.

[c=#BF0080]I agree.. the opening the car door and pulling the chair out nonsense isn't for me lol.[/c]
It does matter. Manners will never go out of style.
I like when men do that for me.
Yes, a gentleman is always nice

These days, I think it's nice if he holds the door open for me, but the chair thing is a bit much. Yet, if he's just doing it for show, and quits after a time, what's the point. It all seems phony to me.

Make sure it is NOT a left wing feminist as she will claim sexual harassment
I open the doors for them FYI
I see it as exceptional manners nowadays, but I've opened and held doors for men---and for other women.
